Rebirth of a Classic – Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V

Rebirth of a Classic – Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V

The Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V is the reincarnation of the legendary PPG Wave synthesizer, which is arguably the most coveted high-end synthesizer of the 1980s and developed by Wolfgang Palm. On countless hits, the sounds of this instrument can be heard. It has inspired a whole generation of producers, composers and listeners and impressed them. While the original PPG Wave System was offered at the price of an average car, it was only affordable for a few top musicians and producers. However, now anyone can enjoy its awesome sound character in their VST or Audio Unit host.

Vinyl DJing … on Life Support?

Vinyl DJing … on Life Support?

Vinyl is dead! … Well, that would be bold statement. And no, … it isn’t. But it is safe to say DJ’s that are working with good ol’ vinyl records are getting scares. Earlier this month, Panasonic wrote a letter to retailers that production of all analogue turn-table products is being terminated at the end of this year. This public secret is floating on the internet since 2009, but now we can say it is really over for the magnificent SL-1200.

Novation Launchpad takes DJ Hero to the next level

Activision’s DJ Hero computer game was a big hit when it was launched in 2009. It provided gamplay like that of Guitar Hero, but for the wannabe DJ as opposed to the brooding rockstar. This month sees the release of DJ Hero 2, which is packed with lots of exciting new features to keep players on their toes. One of the new features in the game is the inclusion of Novation’s Launchpad in the on-screen gameplay.
