Numark NDX800 – Gearjunkies Quick Review

Numark is famous, in the turntablist/scratch scene, for its CD players but also mixers. For Gearjunkies I had the pleasure to take ‘a closer look’ at the Numark NDX800, media player and midi controller. The NDX800 is a versatile media player as you can use oldskool CDs but also other formats via USB. It can even be used as a MIDI controller for Traktor LE, which comes with the NDX.

Celemony published a video Interview with legendary singer Midge Ure. He talks about Ultravox, his work in the studio and which role Melodyne has in the process. Midge Ure is fascinated by DNA Direct Note Access and the possibility to edit individual notes in polyphonic audio: “This isn’t a piece of software, this is black magic!” His workflow today: “Now everything I do, I stick it into Melodyne and see if I can make it better“.
