The MC2000 doesn’t need to be plugged into a mains power supply for you to get thrashing out tunes – it’s USB Bus powered which means if you want to show off your latest mix then you simply need to power up your laptop and plug in the MC2000 with a USB cable (supplied). Serato DJ Intro software detects the controller automatically and is ready to work from the moment you take out of the box and plug in – giving you true ‘plug & play’ functionality.

The ESI UDJ6 is a new professional level 24-bit USB audio interface featuring 6 totally independent output channels. This tiny interface measures just 7cm in length making it ideal for digital DJs working on the road. Two stereo outputs (channels 3 to 6) are provided with RCA connectors on one side of the small and compact bus-powered interface, in its stylish aluminium case. The other side features a stereo headphone output for 1/4″ stereo connection (providing channel 1 and 2 signals).

FL Studio Mobile will allow users to create complete multi-track music projects on an iPod, iPhone or iPad and, if desired, load mobile projects into FL Studio (for Windows) and take them to the next level.

Rob Papen, friend of Gearjunkies, is a Dutch sound designer whose sounds and virtual synthesizers like Blade and Predator are used by a lot of producers all over the world, has completed his 4 Element Synth book and DVD. He told us that he originally planned just one DVD with a bookled inside. Now, over five years and many hours of script writing, filming and editing later, he is finished and all the content is not on one but on four DVDs with over 10 hours of material and a book with over 200 pages of content.

Universal Audio announced two new plug-ins for the UAD-2 platform this week. Shadow Hills is an emulator of the highly revered hardware mastering compressorand has been developed together with Brainworx. Furthermore UA developed together with Bob Katz the precision K-Stereo plug-in which recovers the natural ambience of recorded sources. Both announced plug-ins will be available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November
