Extended information

"A NEW CLASSIC
Based on a painstaking analysis of vintage effect units and guitar amps that have become classics, KORG's proprietary ""REMS"" modeling technology succeeds in faithfully simulating the tone of vacuum tubes and the resonant characteristics of speaker cabinets. Effect parameters can be edited immediately simply by rotating the knobs, for analog-like control. An expression pedal is also provided, which allows 11 types of pedal effect to be controlled in realtime. The exterior design features an extremely sturdy heavy-duty metal body. Additional functions include a Phrase Trainer for learning new licks, and a metronome. On top of all that, the AX1000G includes both an Auto Chromatic Tuner and Sample and Play feature.

WHAT IS REMS?
REMS (Resonant structure and Electronic circuit Modeling System) is KORG's proprietary modeling technology for digitally reproducing the complex tonal changes caused by the resonance of an acoustic guitar, the cabinet of a guitar amp, the effects of the air through which the sound spreads, and the electrical characteristics of a vacuum tube or transistor circuit (effects).

56 TYPES OF MODELING EFFECTS
The AX1000G's 56 types of modeling effects cover numerous vintage compressor, overdrive, distortion, echo, reverb, and wah units that are expensive and difficult to obtain. Numerous simulations are provided, including the fat sound of tube amps, the raucous fuzz sound of the '70s, and the metallic distortion of the '90s. In the drive-amp section, ""REMS"" supports the hybrid gain structure developed by KORG. You even get unique lo-fi effects such as a tape echo that simulates the unique distortion produced by magnetic tape and the unstable pitch caused by irregularities in rotation speed. The Cabinet effect gives you a wide range of simulations that cover both vintage amps and modern designs, down to every detail of cabinet shape and speaker characteristic. The expression pedal lets you control eleven types of pedal effect in realtime-not only volume and wah, but also unique sounds like pitch bend and traveler (filter).

80 INSTANTLY ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMS
The AX1000G contains 40 preset programs that combine high-quality effect models. An additional 40 user programs can be stored, each of which allow you to utilize up to eight effects simultaneously to create virtually any sound you can imagine. In Individual mode, each effect can be turned on/off separately by foot switch, meeting the needs of any situation.

EASY EDITING
Both sound parameters and effect types can be selected by rotating knobs. Parameter names are printed on the front panel, making operation so simple that even beginners can start editing immediately.

SAMPLE AND PLAY FUNCTION
Using the Sample and Play function, you can play and record a phrase of up to 8 seconds and then play it back. Then you can play along with the recorded phrase. By using features like reverse playback with variable speed and many others, you can even produce special effects such as ""scratch"" or looping.

POWER-PACKED PRACTICE WITH THE PHRASE TRAINER
You can record up to 16 seconds from a CD/MD player or cassette, and then slow down the playback to as little as 25% of the original speed without affecting the pitch- an ideal way to learn rapid solos or difficult phrases by ear. The recorded phrase can also be looped for playback, allowing you to listen repeatedly. Plus, you can even hold a specific note. The built-in metronome is also ideal for fine-tuning your sense of rhythm.

AUTO CHROMATIC TUNER
The auto chromatic tuner functions automatically when the AX1000G is bypassed or muted, so that you can tune without audible sound on stage. Plus, the AX1000G's backlit LCD screen displays the program name and shows detailed parameter values during editing.
