Yamaha su10

Available from 11/30/1999 until 11/30/1999
The Yamaha SU10 is a compact sampler with 54 seconds sampling time and an assignable ribbon controller.
Extended information
"Phrase Sampling
Record and replay up to 48 stereo waveforms. Maximum sampling rate is 44.1kHz, equivalent to audio CD. Or select a lower sampling rate to increase available sampling time - to a maximum of 54 seconds.
Sample Editing
The SU10's editing features allow you full flexibility in designing your sounds. You can set playback direction, loop type, and pad action separately for each sample. Set arbitrary start, end, and loop points. Adjust relative playback volume. Assign arbitrary MIDI note numbers to your samples. And more.
Ribbon Controller and Realtime Performance Effects
The dynamic finger-driven ribbon controller works both with SU10 playback and on realtime input from a CD player, microphone, or other sound source. Ribbon effects are dramatic, and great fun to work with. Use the ribbon to control the filter cutoff frequency, to ""scratch"" out a sound segment, to slide the pitch, or to control crossfading of local playback and external input.
Additional Play Features
You can HOLD selected samples, or play samples in REVERSE. Use SCALE mode to set a single sample to play at incremental pitches along the console. Use FILTER modes to apply filtering to local playback or realtime throughput.
Songs
The SU10's sequencing functions stores up to four sample-replay sequences as independent ""songs."" Song and sample replay can be used together- so you can set up a song as a background, then play samples on top of it.
MIDI Support
Use MIDI bulk dumps to back up all data to external storage--for example, to a floppy disk in a Yamaha MDF2 or use MIDI sample dumps to download specific samples to a synth or computer. Drive the SU10 from a remote keyboard or sequencer, or drive a remote tone generator from the SU10. Assign arbitrary note numbers to your 48 samples, and an arbitrary controller number to the ribbon controller.
Sampling Disk Included
The SU10 package includes two CDs: the Showcase Sampling Collection with over 500 performance-oriented samples from Time+Space, and the Sound Effects Collection with 270 samples.
