Extended information

Discrete Transistor Mic Pre - Audiophile quality Class A discrete transistor design means low noise and distortion. Better than a console mic pre because noise and RF rejection is superior, therefore producing cleaner recordings. Wide bandwidth design, well beyond human hearing range, ensures professional perfor-mance within the audible frequency range. This new mic pre delivers clarity without colouration and accepts line and instrument level signals so no DI box is required. The Instrument Jack on the front panel lets you plug straight into a racked up unit.

Filters
Creative mode: Reduces low frequency noise without affecting the bass; Cut high frequency noise but retain presence in the sound. Corrective mode: Low freq. filter removes proximity effect, and rumble. High freq. filter removes wideband noise from old synths etc. To Audio/Gate: Filters can be switched to either audio or into the sidechain of the gate. When both switches are selected simultaneously the filtered gate side chain can be monitored.

Opto Compressor
For easy-to-setup dynamic control of performance changes. The circuit is based around servo controlled optical attenuators giving more pleasing results than equivalent VCA designs, as optos tend to give more punch and fat sounding compression, especially when driven hard. Can be switched to two modes to give soft (vocals) or hard (drums or electric guitars) compression.

Tone Controller
Achieve immediate results û the Control layout is similar to a guitar preamp so therefore instantly familiar to any musician. Bass, middle and two treble modes cover the whole frequency bandwidth. The Tone Controller design is based around a classic passive 60s vintage circuit.
Overdrive adds character to any instrument, such as guitar or synth sounds.
Insert point: Patch-in external effects here.

Parametric EQ
This extra stage augments the effect of the Tone Controller and gives the user fine detail control to add the finishing touches to complete the desired sound.
The 2 bands of EQ can be independently selected to a number of modes:
- Shelf mode: Adds tilt to frequency response to boost bass or ambient reverb information.
- Bell mode: Select a specific frequency to boost or cut.
- Fine mode: Makes the filter more selective for fine detail work without interacting with adjacent frequencies.

Noise Gate
Positioned in the unit signal flow after the insert return to remove noise build up, especially due to noisy guitar footpedals, etc.

Output Meter & Fader
Essential for matching the operating level to the following piece of equipment whether semi pro or fully professional.
