Award Winning Multi-band Compression, traditional Full-band Compression and creative Envelope Compression combined with analog style user interface, presets and full MIDI automation make TripleòC the most versatile Compressor today.

Extended information

ABOUT COMPRESSION
The Multi-band compression mode of TripleòC basically splits the incoming signal into three frequency bands, allowing independent compression to take place in each of the three user defined frequency areas. Consequently compression is only applied to the necessary frequency areas, providing a far more intelligent way of working with the given source material.

Using TripleòCÆs Multi-band mode avoids a number of traditional artifacts of compression i.e. that peaks at certain frequencies incorrectly controlling the compression of the entire signal. For example when compressing vocals using traditional Full-band compression, high frequencies tend to be reduced due to the fact that vocals generally consist of mid frequencies. So the mid frequencies will determine the compression level of the overall signal. Using TripleòCÆs Multi-band compression will allow independent compression in all three bands, and consequently preserve the high frequencies.

The combination of TripleòCÆs Multi-band mode and Spectral Controls, gives you a unique tool to alter the spectral balance of the processed signal. This is a far more dynamic and musical method as opposed to a rather static Equalizer change e.g. allowing you to have a bright and open vocal, while still reducing unwanted "S" peaks when necessary.

SELECTING FULL-RANGE OR MULTI-BAND MODE
Evaluate the frequency range of the source material. If your source material has a wide frequency range with peaks in specific frequency areas, the Multi-band mode should probably be your choice. If on the other hand you are working on e.g a repeating back-up vocal harmony within a relatively small frequency area the Full-range mode would apply perfectly.

MULTI-BAND MODE

Multi-band compression applies to virtually any type of compression application, be it single or multiple sourced material. The three bands of the TripleòC allow maximum transparency, enabling you to achieve your objective without compromising sound quality.

Picking the right Compression Style
The Multi-band mode features a Compression Style parameter. This allows you to pin-point the specific source material you would like to compress and therefore tailor the three band mode to it. Current Compression Style parameters include: Vocals, Speech, Bass, Guitar, Music, Horns, Percussive Instruments, HF-Sense etc.

MULTI-BAND MODE APPLICATIONS EXAMPLES
De-Essing and Compression
Allow the High compression band to act as a build-in De-esser by selecting the "HF-Sense" compression style, giving you the perfect combination of compression in the lower and mid-band, and guarding the high frequencies.

Preserving Top-end
The independent compression in the Multi-band mode preserves high frequencies like no other compressor on the market. This applies for virtually any source i.e. Vocals, Snare, Bass, Guitar etc.

Rolling off Low-end
Use the Low-band level for reducing low frequency rumble from the incoming source material.

Multi-Band compression on Bass
Multi-band compression on a bass, allows high frequencies to pass, while adding compression to lower frequencies for better control and longer sustain.

Group Compression with several sources
Adding compression to Grouped sources, is handled with utmost transparency by the Multi-band mode of the TripleòC, thanks to the independent compression of the three frequency bands.

ENVELOPE MODE

The Envelope mode of the TripleòC allows you to alter the dynamic envelope of the incoming source by changing the gain at the Attack and Release point of the original source. This effect is especially effective on percussive source material.

ENVELOPE MODE APPLICATIONS EXAMPLES
Snappy Snare
Get the snappy and aggressive sounding snare sound by adding a bit of extra gain to the attack of the snare hit.

Break the Beat
Want to really make your break beats sound over compressed? Use the Envelope for creating level changes that will make you breathless.

FULL-BAND MODE

FULL-BAND MODE APPLICATION EXAMPLES
Breathing
Set the Full-band mode to slow Attack and fast Release time and get that intense "In-your-face" vocal sound that makes you stand out.

Funky Guitar
Create the percussive rhythm guitar sound that fits any funky track by utilizing the Full-band mode.

PEAK SENSITIVE

When using compression on a snare drum entirely different aspects are to be taken in consideration compared to vocal processing. A drum has a sharp attack but almost no sustain. For the Compressor to take effect at all a really short Attack time is essential. TripleòC features a "Peak Sense" mode. As per default TripleòC responds to average levels, however when "Peak Sense" is active, TripleòC becomes responsive to peaks, adapting better to percussive source material.

PRESETS

The TRIPLEòC holds 50 factory presets (ROM bank) optimized for specific instruments and 100 RAM for your own user presets.

MAKE UP GAIN SECTION

The "Absolute Gain" indication of the LCD metering, allows you to view the gain flow through TripleòC hence achieve perfect gain compensation on both level and frequency responds instantly.

DIGITAL RADIANCE GENERATOR

Add second harmonic distortion. This tube-simulation will add warmth to your track.

SIDECHAIN

These are some examples of TRIPLEòC æs Sidechain applications:
Kick vs. Bass Guitar
Let the Kick drum control the compression of the Bass guitar, by using the External Sidechain Input.

Frequency sensitive Compression Insert an external EQ into the Sidechain, for pin-pointing a specific compression frequency, by using the direct Out and Sidechain in connectors.

Stereo Coupling
Connect two TripleòCs in a stereo coupling by crossing the direct Outs and Sidechain in signals.

SPECTRAL ADJUST

With the LO-BAND and HI-BAND controls you can adjust the Output level of the Lo and Hi-Frequency bands separately. Very useful to open up vocals into the mix.

MIDI CONTROLLERS

All effect parameters can be accessed via standard MIDI controllers and allows realtime control and automation with virtually any sequencer or other MIDI devices.
