Apogee UV22: The Professional StandardThe CDR1000 incorporates Apogee UV22 Super CD Encoding, a superior processing technology adopted by major recording studios all over the world. UV22 permits high-quality 16-bit encoding of sources originally recorded at higher bit resolutions without the need for peripheral gear.

Simple Sampling Rate ConversionAnother handy feature built right into the CDR1000 is a sampling rate converter capable of handling a wide range of digital sources, everything from 30kHz to 50kHz. (With 44.1kHz sources the converter is bypassed.) And the CDR1000 is not only the ideal CD recorder, it's also a high-quality CD playback source, with the convenience of being able to configure a fully digital system without having to change the master/slave clock settings. What's more, a word clock input is provided for AES/EBU pass-through.

Flexible I/O OptionsThe CDR1000's input and output options include everything discerning professionals demand in order to handle all types of CD recording and playback situations. The selection of inputs includes coaxial, AES/EBU, and analog balanced XLR connectors with a +4dB/-10dBV switch. Available outputs include coaxial, AES/EBU and analog XLR (+4dB) connectors.

Versatile Recording, Indexing And Other FeaturesIt's easy to get a good recording every time with the CDR1000. A high-precision recording start feature ensures professional takes without missing a beat. Also, an audio delay feature lets you "back-track" up to 5 seconds by buffering the input. Track incrementing is set up for ease of use, as well. You can select either manual or automatic indexing. The threshold level for auto track increment can be set to -96 or to any value between -70 and -30dB, when the input signal goes below the threshold for more than three seconds. What's more, a handy index recording function lets you place multiple sound effect libraries within a single track. Other key features of the CDR1000 include easy to read 16-segment level meters with peak hold function, quad-speed finalize capability for improved editing efficiency, and selectable copy protect functions including PERMIT (unlimited copy), ONCE (SCMS compatible) and PROTECT (no copy).

Convenient Start/Stop Options, And MoreThe CDR1000 comes with a full-function wireless remote controller that provides for convenience in accessing all main operating features in a variety of CD recording and playback situations. A foot switch connector is also provided for recording start and stop control by foot using an optional foot switch. A digital cascade output function with synchronized recording lets you easily create duplicates using multiple machines. Also, a parallel I/O port allows for external control by input and output pulse.
