The Elektron Monomachine SFX-6 is a multiple synthesis and FX synthesiser with unique parameter sequencer control. The Monomachine SFX-6 is scheduled for public release in the third quarter of 2003 and delivers musical synthesis and sequencing in certainly the friendly Elektron way, built upon the traditions of previous Elektron synthesiser models SidStation and Machinedrum. The last one being a joy to use, you can count for a great user experience.
Extended information
The dual DSP engine of the SFX-6 offers six tracks of audio synthesis, each with dedicated sequencing and effects. Each track can be assigned a user selectable synthesis algorithm or FX generator. The selection of algorithms include both traditional types as well as new creative algorithms never heard before. Make way for synthesis types such as VO (a virtual analogue?), FM+ (that's easy?), SuperWave (wave tables?), Ensemble (a "string" synth?), Step and Sync. There is a Poly Mode to fulfil the harmonic fundamentals, or by activating the Multi Trig feature, create monophonic textures.
Well, it looks yummy and based on the DSP engine of the Machinedrum (same looks, certainly same synthesis engine). I'd like more explanations on some terms used to define the synthesis modes, we'll know in due time anyway.
