Metasonix Available from 11/30/1999 until 11/30/1999

The Metasonix TX-2 is entirely made of vacuum tubes. To be specific,
three type 4BN6 beam modulator devices. They were intended for
use in crummy TV sets as FM detectors, and were NOT meant
for audio processing applications. They SUCK. Really, really, badly.

Overall:
i bought this item seeking gobs of distortion and metasonix delivered. i had no delusions of subtlety, this thing turns anything and everything into a great big squarewave.
Usability:
while i dont use it for every track, when i go to it it never fails to deliver "that" sound im looking for. big fat ocillating distortion is its bag.
Sounds:
umm see above
Build quality:
this thing is pretty sturdy, but you do have to be carefull of the tubes, i mean they are fragile you know! mine has "up yours" painted on the side, how cool is that?
