QUANTEC YARDSTICK 2402 - a simple and affordable unit with digital I/O, and absolutely no sonic compromise when simulating churches, concert halls, and the like. It can't be used for small rooms like wardrobes or oil barrels, since the ROOM SIZE parameter has been discarded. So movie post-production people may be a bit disappointed. But musicians won't. They'll love it. And after all they're the guys YARDSTICK has been made for.
Extended information
* All areas where artificial reverberation is regarded as undesirable or unpleasant - unless it's a QUANTEC
* 3D recordings, which will typically get collapsed by most other reverberators' early reflection patterns
* OB vans for broadcasting live classical music
Technical specifications
* Design team headed by the designer of the legendary QUANTEC QRS (year of construction: 1982)
* Simplified QRS algorithm with no sonic compromise. The original ROOM SIZE parameter and ENHANCE mode have been traded-in for reduced DSP complexity and maximum affordability
* An optional variable-edge brickwall high-cut filter simulates the beautiful soft timbre of the original QRS' 8kHz bandwidth
* Constant-density mode for special effects
* Frontpanel-operated standalone version with graphic display »2402/F«, or remote-only version »2402/R«. Both may be operated from remote. Via MIDI or pocket-sized »QUANCOR 1220 COMMANDER«
* Fast BYPASS and MUTE functions
* Bargraph meters for input and output levels available on both front-panel and remote control units
* Incoming and outgoing (configurable) AES/EBU »Origin« and »Destination« IDs displayed
* AES/EBU digital I/O (genlock only). Scales calibrated for flat 44.1 or 48k sample rates. Non-standard rates default to an uncalibrated varispeed mode. Rates of 48..54k stipulate special speed selection (Option /S)
* Full 24-bit stereo I/O for direct signal and delay lines. Minimum of 16 bits for the QRS algorithm
* Archiving and installing of user presets and firmware via RS-232 from a PC or via MIDI
* Tiny cool unit, 19" 1PU, only 38mm (1˝") deep, power less than 12VA
