Lexicon has launched the Omega® Studio Desktop Recording Bundle. Steinberg has been receiving reports of individual CI2 users encountering random noise bursts during playback/recording. This issue which occurred when applying certain software settings was examined and has now been fixed. The driver patch plus extension is available in the support section of the Steinberg site.

MOTU has announced the UltraLite MK3 Hybrid, the world’s first hybrid FireWire/USB2 audio interface for Mac and Windows.
New Akai “Special Edition” MPC2500 released at the recent Music Fair in Japan (very similar to the MPC2500LE “Limited Edition” produced last year by Akai for Guitar Centre in the US, which was a limited run of 500 units), though the display is now blue (rather than green) and the gold, edition badge showing “XXX of 500” is replaced with a silver one which reads “MPC2500 Special Edition”. Other features include the DVD drive option included as standard as is the full 128MB of RAM.
Vestax has teamed up with software maker Algoriddim to produce an entry level all-in-one digital DJ controller, SPIN. This controller will be sold exlusively in Apple stores throughout the US and Canada: http://www.djay-software.com. We have no information if SPIN will be available Europe as well in the future.
Vestax will pretty soon announce the SPIN controller which is dedicated to DJAY Software and will be connected through USB as a regular midi controller. We expect that Vestax will reveal more details on monday. Till then here are some pictures…
