Blue Cat Audio Dynamics 3.1 and Protector 1.2 released

Blue Cat Audio is happy to announce a new version of thier dynamics processing audio plug-ins, Blue Cat’s Dynamics and Blue Cat’s Protector. These new versions add RTAS plug-in format support for Pro Tools (Mac and PC), 64-bit support for DirectX and VST versions under Windows x64, and 64-bit Audio Units support under Mac OS X Snow Leopard (for Logic 9.1 users running in 64-bit mode). These new versions also include several fixes and enhancements such as improved side chain support in Logic Pro.

Digital Performer 7.11 is now shipping. If you own Version 7, you can download the free Version 7.11 updater. This maintenance release includes expanded control surface and MIDI device configuration options, improved waveform overview construction, and more, as well as features and enhancements first introduced in DP 7.1 and earlier. Improved control surface configuration options enable the use of applications such as Saitara Software’s AC-7 applications for iPhone and iPad.

In January, PreSonus announced their groundbreaking new Virtual StudioLive™ (VSL™) software for Mac and Windows, which gives StudioLive users real-time, bidirectional control of the digital mixer’s channel, subgroup, and main-bus levels; Fat Channel parameters; aux mixes; effects; and the graphic EQ. Any change made to the mixer is reflected in the software in real time, and vice versa.

Avid announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Euphonix, a leader in large-format digital audio consoles, media controllers and peripherals.  With the acquisition, Avid will deliver a broad range of audio and video control surfaces and consoles designed to meet the needs of customers ranging from the independent professional to the high-end broadcaster.  Avid plans to continue to support and sell both Euphonix control surfaces and Avid’s existing ICON solution, enabling customers to leverage existing investments in industry-leading hardware.

New Vintage Style Compressor plugin from Mellowmuse

Mellowmuse have released the vintage styled CP2V, is a track and program compressor, that captures the smoothness and harmonic richness of analogue circuits, in an easy to use package. Turning the Compression control gradually increases the compression ratio while lowering the threshold.
