Apple Launches iPad

Apple today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.

“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”

Applied Acoustics Systems releases the Lounge Lizard EP-3 v3.1.3 Update for Mac OS X and Windows. This is a maintenance update containing the following changes:

– Authorization now works with non-admin user accounts;
– Fixed browser focus crash on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard;
– Fixed drag-and-drop in Logic 9 but now have a separate edit window;
– Fixed MIDI Links behavior on On/Off buttons.

PreSonus VSL Brings the StudioLive Under Computer Control

StudioLive mixer owners will be delighted to learn that they can control the most-used StudioLive parameters directly from a computer, thanks to PreSonus’ new VSL software for the StudioLive 16.4.2 and StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixers. VSL(short for “Virtual StudioLive”) provides bidirectional control of channel, subgroup, and main-bus levels; Fat Channel parameters; aux mixes; effects; and the graphic EQ. You get a visual overview of your StudioLive settings so you can see, tweak, and organize them and can easily manage your presets and Scenes. The software will be available for Mac OS X and Windows in the first quarter of 2010 and will be a free download.
