Steinberg presents The Grand 3

Steinberg is proud to present a major update to its renowned The Grand virtual piano. The Grand 3 offers the sound of five legendary pianos including Yamaha C7, Steinway Model D and Bösendorfer 290 Imperial grands, as well as the Nordiska Upright and the famed Yamaha CP80 electric piano. Each piano has been recorded in first-class quality using two microphone positions, with a stand-alone mode, equalization tools, tuning editor as well as a range of technologies to enhance computer resource efficiency. The Grand 3 supports VST3, VST2, AU and ReWire and will be available Q3 2009 for Mac OS X, Windows XP and both Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit versions.

Steinberg announces HALion 3 compatibility with 64-bit Vista

Upcoming HALion 3.5 update delivers native 64-bit Windows Vista support for Steinberg’s award-winning virtual sampler. Steinberg today announced an update to its award-winning HALion 3 virtual sampler VST instrument that adds support for 64-bit editions of Windows Vista. The update to version to 3.5 will be available in Q2 2009 as a download from www.steinberg.net for registered HALion 3 customers.

Teenage Engineering OP-1 Display Test

Yesterday we introduced you to the OP-1. A combination between a controller and a synth, at this moment in full development by Teenage Engineering. The video below shows the display development test. According to Teenage Engineering themselves: “This is how the display will look like on the OP. It’s got extremely high PPI, the contrast is crazy, and according to myself, the gfx is bananas!” Watching the video we think they aren’t far off.

Voxengo updates FREE audio plug-ins

A set of free Voxengo professional audio plug-ins were updated. These plug-ins can be loaded into any audio host application that conforms to the VST or AudioUnit plug-in specification. Plug-ins are compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista (32- and 64-bit) and Mac OS X 10.4.11 and above (Intel and PowerPC) computers (2 GHz dual-core or faster processor with at least 1 GB of system RAM recommended).
