Muse Research unveils new The MuseBOX Plug-in Player
Muse Research is offering a “sneak peek” of their brand new, low-cost portable virtual instrument player called The MuseBOX at the Winter NAMM show. The MuseBOX is based on the same MuseMachine software technology that powers the company’s RECEPTOR 2 line of virtual instrument players and features a solid state drive for storing both the OS and many plug-ins, a CF card slot for removable storage of additional plug-ins or smaller “ROMPLER” libraries, and an option for installing an internal hard drive for storing large sample libraries.

Digidesign Announces Two New Pro Tools LE System Bundles
On the heels of the highly-anticipated release of Pro Tools 8, Digidesign is now offering two new Pro Tools LE system bundles: 003 Factory Complete and 003 Rack Factory Complete. Both bundles combine a Digidesign 003 hardware interface with the new Complete Production Toolkit – the powerful new expansion option for Pro Tools LE systems that combines a variety of plug-ins for both music and post production applications. The bundles offer up to nearly $500 in savings from standalone purchases.
New OS for Akai MPC5000
