UK-based newcomers Sound Pressure Level are X Factor 2011 participant Roxy Yarnold, Sammie Ellard-King and Alex Wallace who have recently been recording their debut long player The Recipe in Soho Sonic Studios, situated in the heart of London. Production team UPIA, owned by OJ (Ofer Shabi) and Sefi Carmel, produced SPL’s entire album in Cubase 6. Steinberg met up with OJ to talk about the band and the many projects he’s previously been caught up in.

Steinberg releases HALion Symphonic Orchestra 1.5

Steinberg is pleased to announce a new update for its HALion Symphonic Orchestra VST instrument that provides support for 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, as well as new ‘light’ programs for customers using 32-bit versions of Windows. HALion Symphonic Orchestra is the latest Steinberg product to be made available in a 64-bit version, coming after the release of Cubase 5 for 64-bit Vista. Cubase 5 and HALion Symphonic Orchestra fully support VST Expressions, a new technology that offers dramatically enhanced handling of large sample libraries. Steinberg updates for HALion 3, HSO, HSE2 and HALion Player

Steinberg has today issued a hotfix update for HALion 3.3, HALion Symphonic Orchestra 1.3 and HALion String Edition 2.3 as well as both the HALion Player 3.3 retail and HALion Player 3.3 OEM versions. The new version updates functions within the underlying HALion 3 sampler engine shared by all these products. These include enhancements when recalling tempo settings in standalone mode, with zone display in the Key Zone Editor as well as program change functionality.
