Livid Block Diablo now available
Block is a compact and programmable MIDI control surface designed for interactive audio performance. Built on the same bi-directional and adaptable platform as the Ohm64, Block provides a powerful interface for creating and interacting with sound in a small easy-to-transport body. Sixty four backlight led buttons provide endless possibilities for visual feedback with the instrument by connecting it to Ableton Live, Max/Msp, our open source sounds apps, or any other software that supports MIDI. The Limited Edition Block Diablo is only available while supplies last. This version has a mahogany body, black faceplate, and red LED’s.
Mu – Ableton Live controller for the Lemur – Teaser Video
JazzMutant has released this teaser video for Mu, a multi-touch Ableton Live controller for the Lemur. Mu is a Max for Live plugin, so you will need Ableton Live 8 and Max for Live to use it. Pricing and availability are to be announced. Guess we will have to wait till the MusikMesse next week to get more details!
Elysia Mpressor plugin – Gearjunkies review
The German Elysia company is known for their high-end compressors which they have been building for several years now. They have teamed up with the designers of Brainworx and used their vast knowledge of discrete components and translate them to the digital path. The result Mpressor plugin is available as VST, RTAS, TDM and AU. I’ve tested the VST version in Cubase 5.1.1. To get it right I’ve taken longer than the standard 14 day trial period you can get provided that you have an iLok dongle.

Cakewalk SONAR 8.5.3 AudioSnap Update – Video
Cakewalk recently released a free update for SONAR 8.5 Producer and SONAR 8.5 Studio. The SONAR 8.5.3 update is focused on AudioSnap 2.0 providing usability enhancements, optimizations, and overall improved stability when performing complex audio timing tasks. Cakewalk has posted a few videos explaining and showing more on Audiosnap 2.0.
Open Sound Control (OSC) for Kyma
Symbolic Sound Corporation has expanded the list of real-time controllers and software that can communicate with its Kyma sound design environment by adding support for Open Sound Control (OSC) to its Paca(rana) sound engine.

Allen & Heath MusikMesse preview
British mixer manufacturer, Allen & Heath, will be showing a cross section of its latest products at the forthcoming Pro Light & Sound exhibition (MusikMesse) in Frankfurt.
Exhibiting in Hall 8.0 Stand C22, a highlight on the stand will be the newly launched iDR-16 3U MixRack and iLive-R72 rackmountable Control Surface, which together provide a space saving, lightweight digital live mixing system, bringing the same power, sonic performance and flexibility of the larger touring iLive systems to a significantly lower price point. The company will also be demonstrating new features in the latest version of its iLive software v1.6.
Saitara Software releases AC-7 DAW Control for iPhone
The AC-7 DAW Control is a wireless DAW controller for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad. It has a two-way wifi connection to your DAW software, allowing realtime display of track levels. It requires a wifi network and the DSMI Server to be running on the computer.
