GForce Imposcar2 hardware controller – part 3

And there it is! Mario has just finished his fantastic impOSCar 2 Controller “Keyboard Version”. Comment of Chris Mcleod from GForce was: “Stunning!” And yes, we totally agree. This machine looks so cool that you would love to take it and go and play with it. Earlier Mario mentioned the controller would maybe go up for auction or people could make a bid for it, … but this thing took up so much time and money in parts that he is just as happy to just keep it for himself. (And who could blame him for that?) But then again…. for the right offer?

This was literally my first go on it so making a bit of a messy racket but you get the idea… also please note this video is probably only interesting to about 10% of people on here… sorry!”

GForce Imposcar2 hardware controller – part 2

A few months ago we brought you a story about the GForce Imposcar2 hardware controller that Mario Jurisch had built for GForce. Back then there were no plans for a production run. It would stay a ‘one off’ project. Mario, however, decided the built another controller just for himself. And this controller has reached near completion. Was the first version just a controller, Mario’s personal version has a keyboard section.

Dave demonstrates the MoPho Keyboard – Video

The Mopho Keyboard is a compact and affordable—but powerful—monophonic analog synthesizer. The voice architecture is similar to a single voice of the Prophet ’08, but with a couple of twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional girth and crushing basses. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho’s own audio output back in pre-filter for feedback effects that can range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk. It features the same semi-weighted keyboard action as the Prophet.

LinnStrument – Roger Linns research project

When Roger isn’t working on his cool musical instruments, he is working on a new musical instrument concept. He is interested in the idea of new musical instruments that overcome the limitations of traditional mechanical instruments. His particular interest is in a new instrument that while capable of entirely new sounds and playing techniques, is also able to reproduce the sounds, virtuosic performance capabilities and subtleties that we’ve come to know and love from traditional musical instruments, but without all their problems and limitations.

Enhance your Studios Environment with Leaf-Tie

The following isn’t really what we write about on Gearjunkies usually, but still we thought this concept is just so brilliant. So we will share this with you. Many of us have their own studio/gear setup and one of the downsides of having a lot of gear is the issue of … cables. From just a few to dozens and dozens. All tangled up and twisted! We all need them so there isn’t much we can do about it. Lufdesign had the same idea but they came up with a product that makes that same Cable issue kinda … more bearable. Presenting the Leaf Tie!
