Karma Lab M3 Software for the Korg M3 Announced

Karma-Lab has released KARMA M3 Software, a dedicated PC/Mac program for the Korg M3. Created by KARMA developer Stephen Kay, KM3 allows you to go deeper into the world of the KARMA function, in ways that are not possible on the M3 alone. Whether you are creating sounds from scratch or using the factory sounds, KM3s visual controls and displays provide the ultimate insight and learning tool for anyone who wants to better understand the KARMA Function.

The program runs on Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher (fully compatible with 10.5 Leopard), on Windows XP (32 and 64 bit), and Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit).

KARMA M3’s main features include the ability to develop your own Generated Effects (GE’s) for unlimited musical possibilities, or edit the factory GEs into new configurations. Import .MID files and instantly turn them into GEs. Then, upload (via SysEx) your new GE’s to the M3 and take them on the road.

KARMA M3 also provides some additional features not found in the keyboard, such as 32 Scenes per Module per Performance (instead of 8), 16 Chord Trigger Buttons (Pads) per Performance instead of 8, the ability to give each Module and Scene a descriptive name, 6 KARMA Modules (instead of just 4), and more. These features cannot be imported into the M3, but are available while using the software. And for the truly adventurous, you can operate KM3 as an additional 6 modules at the same time as using the 4 modules of the internal KARMA Function in the M3, for up to 10 modules — it’s like having two and a half M3’s at once!
