Steinberg Nuendo 4.3 soon available

Steinberg is pleased to announce that the new maintenance update for the Nuendo 4 advanced audio and post production system will be available for all registered Nuendo 4 users from July 31 as a free download from the Steinberg website. Version 4.3 mainly focuses on improving the overall stability of the program by addressing important issues like file import, surround and general session handling.

Rob Papen shows the new RP-Verb plugin

Rob announced that the development of his new plugin RP-Verb is in its final stages. Beta testing is next. A release would be possible later this month, depending on the beta test of course. RP-Verb will not be a ‘convolution reverb’. This reverb is based on a new algorithm by RCPX (Rob Papen and Jon Ayres). What we know already is that it gives the processed audio a surprisingly warm sound and new types of colouring. Looking at the GUI and the details, that have been released, we can’t hide the fact we are kinda excited.

Legendary music icon Michael Jackson dies after reports of possible heart attack.

The Los Angeles Times, citing city and law enforcement officials, reported late this afternoon that the singer was dead after being rushed to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles around 3:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Such a sad loss, especially for his family and for all musicians he inspired with his great music!

H.G. Fortune Swamp XT VSTi released

Due to constantly recurring requests H.G. Fortune did a rework of that famous Swamp thing. This synthesizer features ‘Timbre-modulation’ – now what is it about. Well it is some way difficult to describe as it is processing each oscillator’s waveform in a very unique way in changing i.e. enriching or limiting the harmonic spectrum making the sound fatter, wider or narrower even til near dissolving it to some way distorted noise depending on the input wave.

PreSonus releases Universal Control and 64-bit FireStudio Drivers

PreSonus is delighted to announce that we have released our new Universal Control version 1.11 software. The installer for this release includes three major components. The first component consists of new 32- and 64-bit drivers for all PreSonus FireStudio-series audio interfaces and the StudioLive 16.4.2 digital mixer. With the new drivers installed, these interfaces now work correctly under 64-bit Windows XP and Vista and will support 64-bit operation in Mac OS X 10.5 and later.
