PreSonus Virtual StudioLive and FireStudio Win 7 and Snow Leopard Drivers Ship

In January, PreSonus announced their groundbreaking new Virtual StudioLive™ (VSL™) software for Mac and Windows, which gives StudioLive users real-time, bidirectional control of the digital mixer’s channel, subgroup, and main-bus levels; Fat Channel parameters; aux mixes; effects; and the graphic EQ. Any change made to the mixer is reflected in the software in real time, and vice versa.

VSL provides a visual overview of your StudioLive settings so you can see, tweak, and organize them and can easily manage your presets and Scenes. You can even export presets and Scenes as XML files and email them to collaborators who have a StudioLive mixer. And controlling your StudioLive with VSL is as easy as drag-and-drop.

Of course, to truly appreciate what VSL can do, you need to try it with your StudioLive 16.4.2 mixer—and now you can! Effective immediately, VSL 1.0 for the StudioLive 16.4.2 is available as a free download. When the StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixer ships, it will also include VSL.

Virtual StudioLive is integrated with PreSonus Universal Control software and replaces the Device Window for the StudioLive 16.4.2. It is, therefore, part of a larger software release. In addition to Virtual StudioLive, this new software release includes final 32- and 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, final 64-bit support for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and an assortment of fixes and installer improvements for all FireStudio™ interfaces, including the original FireStudio (26×26), FireStudio Mobile, FireStudio Lightpipe, FireStudio Project, FireStudio Tube, and StudioLive 16.4.2. This release also marks the end of the public-beta program for the drivers, and we thank all who participated.

To download your copy of VSL and the new drivers, go to the Technical Support/Downloads/Software Updates-Drivers section of the PreSonus Web site.
