ARTURIA announces version 2.0 of BRASS

BRASS, the award-winning software recreation of three wind instruments, a trumpet, a saxophone and a trombone, is now coming in version 2. All the characteristics of the real instruments have been analysed and modelled by Ircam Paris through mathematical algorithms, to offer extreme realism and expressivity.

Celemony presents Melodyne editor with DNA

Celemony is presenting at the NAMM Show 2009 Melodyne editor, the first product with Direct Note Access. DNA technology was first introduced at the Musikmesse Frankfurt 2008 and has aroused great interest worldwide. It allows for the first time to edit individual chord tones in audio recordings. Melodyne editor offers for single audio tracks all the possibilities that have made Melodyne legendary, and, with DNA, opens up in addition to these unique new possibilities for the correction and refashioning of audio material. Melodyne editor can run as a plug-in or stand-alone and will be available from spring 2009 for 349 US$/€.

Stanton SCS-1 System now shipping

Stanton DJ, an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of professional audio products for DJs, announces the official release of the SC System into retail locations worldwide. IK Multimedia announces StealthPedal

Steinberg launches VST PlugIn Zone

Steinberg is pleased to introduce the PlugIn Zone, a new section on the Steinberg website dedicated to renowned software companies and their acclaimed VST products. VST is an industry-standard interface technology developed by Steinberg which allows the seamless integration of virtual instruments and effect plug-ins into VST-compatible host applications. Meanwhile, Steinberg has released VST3, a major revision with many new features.

Native Instruments going Hardware?

Just only a few hours away to the opening of the Winter NAMM we came across this information that was going around on the internet ‘Rumour’ hot-spots. Native Instruments is going into Hardware? Well kinda. Of course they have their own Kore controller. Their next venture into hardware would be a ‘next-generation’ groovebox machine. Conveniently called MASCHINE.

SPL launches Analog Code TwinTube plug-in at Winter NAMM

SPL launched their new Analog Code plug-in line at the last AES with the Transient Designer and the Ranger set of EQs. Now the German company adds the third plug-in with the release of the TwinTube at the NAMM 2009. All Analog Code plug-ins are modeled after analog hardware processors, and in this case the TwinTube processor of SPL’s RackPack modular system has been the paragon.

NAMM 2009 opens its doors tomorrow!

Tomorrow NAMM 2009, the music manufacturers’ US trade show will kick off. This year will probably be more interesting then ever. With the world’s economy in a less then good shape, manufacturers will have to make extra efforts the coming year(s). Will they introduce new products or … will they hold off new gear because they wanna monitor the economy first and see where we are going with this issue?
