RME has released drivers for Apple’s latest operating system, Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6), available on the company’s website. The drivers support 32 bit and 64 bit operation and are available for all RME PCI Express cards, the FireWire-based Fireface 400/800 and the USB-based Fireface UC. They ensure full compatibility of all up-to-date RME interfaces even when booting and working in the 64 bit kernel mode available on certain Mac systems.
The drivers provide further performance improvements and include new autostart and setup features. Additionally they are fully downward compatible to Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard). The latest optimizations can improve the performance even on those systems. The integration of all current Mac operating systems in a single combined driver ensures a hassle-free update process.
All drivers are now available in the download section of the RME website.
