The timeline traces Bob Moog’s journey from his early days in Flushing, New York, to his high school years at Bronx High School of Science and his doctorate studies at Cornell University. It explores the evolution of his company, which he founded in 1954, originally named RAMCO, then R.A. Moog Co., Moog Music, Inc., and Big Briar, Inc., and traces his other ventures including his work with synthesizer companies including Crumar, Synton, and Kurzweil.
The interactive timeline features newly discovered, intimate family photos and documents, such as Moog’s elementary school report cards, and personal letters from his early years. It also draws upon the vast materials in the Bob Moog Foundation Archives, including several articles he wrote throughout his lifetime, posted in their entirety, as well as excerpts from his desktop notebooks, numerous prestigious awards, and a range of correspondence.
The timeline is an evolving project for the Foundation. It will continue to grow over time with new information being released on a periodic basis
