The upcoming edition of Superbooth, known as SUPERBOOTH24, has been officially scheduled for May 16th to 18th, 2024, at FEZ-Berlin. Planning for SUPERBOOTH BERLIN in 2024 was a challenge earlier this year due to uncertainties. Similar to many large-scale events and festivals, Superbooth had faced significant financial obstacles due to pandemic-related disruptions and constraints. SB23, held this year, marked the first Superbooth to occur without restrictions since 2019. Its success played a pivotal role in determining the event’s future.
Thus, it brings us great joy to announce that SUPERBOOTH23 was an immense success that solidified the event’s continuation. As the largest and most prosperous Superbooth thus far, SB23 surpassed the previous record year of 2019, boasting over 250 exhibitors from around the globe and attracting more than 9000 visitors and participants.
SUPERBOOTH23’s presence on social media was unprecedented, likely due to its heightened emphasis on inclusivity and diversity within the electronic music technology sector. This direction was warmly embraced by the majority of Superbooth’s attendees. Initiatives like the “Minibooth” for youth, workshops catering to women and nonbinary individuals, and a women’s representation in performance bookings aimed to pave the way for a more inclusive future in electronic music creation.
The diverse music performance stages lent SB23 the ambiance of a music festival, with a specific focus on unique live performances that diverged from the norm of typical large-scale festival lineups. The introduction of the new session stage introduced genres like dub, reggae, and various forms of bass music to the event. During the evening hours, the popular Strandbühne (beach stage) with its relaxed setting and diverse dining options created an atmosphere reminiscent of an energetic music festival.
Attendees of SB23 frequently noted a palpable sense of ease and even euphoria that permeated the event. The Superbooth’s distinctive concept of combining a trade fair with the spirit of a festival once again demonstrated its uniqueness within the realm of electronic music.
Looking ahead to 2024, SUPERBOOTH BERLIN aims to build upon the achievements of 2023 and strive for an even greater event. Our goal is to continue upholding our reputation as the world’s premier trade fair for electronic musical instruments.
