AKAI LPK25 and LPD8 now shipping

Akai Professional, the name synonymous with music production, announces that the LPD8 laptop pad controller and LPK25 laptop performance keyboard controller are now shipping to retailers. The LPD8 and LPK25 are USB-MIDI controllers for musicians, producers, DJs and other music creators. Each model is less than 13 inches across and weighs less than a pound to easily fit into a laptop case, backpack or messenger bag for extreme portability.

TASCAM introduces Track Pack Bundles for Beginners

TASCAM has created the Track Pack X1 and Track Pack X2 bundles for musicians looking for an inexpensive way to start recording in their computers. The Track Pack X1 contains the new US-100 USB interface, dynamic microphone and set of closed-ear headphones for under $150. The Track Pack X2 features the new US-122mkII audio interface, TM-78 large-diaphragm condenser microphone and Cubase LE4 48-track recording software for under $200.

Novation Launchpad – a closer look

Launchpad is a dedicated controller for Ableton Live, co-developed by Novation and Ableton. Perfect for DJing, performing live or working in the studio, Launchpad features a multi-color, 64-button grid, control modes for the Session View and Live’s mixer, two fully-programmable User Modes and dedicated scene-launch/function buttons. Despite the big grid, Launchpad is neat, compact and portable: 239 x 239 mm with a slim 24 mm profile and weighing only 717 g.
