Gearjunkies MusikMesse 2009 Roundup

The MusikMesse show is over again, and we’ve spent some quality time in Frankfurt with all the gear lined up ready to play around with. This year’s show was different though, some major players decided not to show and you had to look a bit better to find out what was going on, but there was plenty of new and cool gear to see! Here’s an overview of what we thought was the coolest new gear around.

SM Pro Audio announces V-Rack

Talk about the next revolution…. the V is back! Based around the recently developed “Powered by VFX” hardware platform, VST and VSTi plug-ins can be loaded directly into SM Pro Audio’s new V-Rack. The V-Rack is a powerful and unique product designed to provide musicians, engineers, producers, and guitarists performance products they can rely on. The new V-Rack offers VST/VSTi plug-in compatibility in a stand-alone hardware unit without the need for a standard PC/Mac computer!

BIAS Master Perfection Suite seperate plugins available

BIAS announced today that all six professional audio processing plug-ins from the Master Perfection Suite, will also be available separately as retail editions. The Master Perfection Suite is aimed at musicians, recording and mastering engineers, audio and video editors, sound designers and other audio professionals. These value packed plug-ins include: Repli-Q (spectral matching), PitchCraft (pitch correction/manipulation), Reveal (analysis), Sqweez-3 & -5 (multi-band dynamic processing), SuperFreq (paragraphic EQ), and GateEx (gate/expander).
