HM2 NAIL Compressor from A-Designs Audio is now shipping

Following its well-received “sneak-peak” preview at the NAMM Show earlier this year, the new HM2 NAIL Compressor from A-Designs Audio is now shipping. Featuring a hybrid topology combining a feedback diode-based design with a 12AT7 tube output section, the dual mono-channel NAIL offers practically endless possibilities in terms of compression control and envelope shaping. Engineers will quickly discover that a number of unique features, including Hard Threshold, Filter and Mix, set the NAIL apart from other more traditional compressors on the market.

PreSonus Virtual StudioLive and FireStudio Win 7 and Snow Leopard Drivers Ship

In January, PreSonus announced their groundbreaking new Virtual StudioLive™ (VSL™) software for Mac and Windows, which gives StudioLive users real-time, bidirectional control of the digital mixer’s channel, subgroup, and main-bus levels; Fat Channel parameters; aux mixes; effects; and the graphic EQ. Any change made to the mixer is reflected in the software in real time, and vice versa.

New Flagship Media Controller from Euphonix unveiled

Euphonix has announced MC Control v2, the latest addition to its award-winning line of Artist Series media controllers. MC Control v2 features the same ergonomic layout and slim line design as the award-winning MC Control, but offers enhanced graphics thanks to a new LED-backlit touch-screen and even better tactile control of parameters via eight new custom rotary encoders. Euphonix taken over by AVID

Avid announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Euphonix, a leader in large-format digital audio consoles, media controllers and peripherals.  With the acquisition, Avid will deliver a broad range of audio and video control surfaces and consoles designed to meet the needs of customers ranging from the independent professional to the high-end broadcaster.  Avid plans to continue to support and sell both Euphonix control surfaces and Avid’s existing ICON solution, enabling customers to leverage existing investments in industry-leading hardware.

Final MusikMesse post – Gearjunkies Video Tour

Here it is, … our final MusikMesse post. This year (like the previous ones) we shot a lot of pictures and video footage. Not everything ended up in a post on Gearjunkies. But we thought we could compile most of the video footage and make a MusikMesse Tour to give you a short impression of the Messe this year. We want to thank all the manufacturers who gave us the opportunity to play with their latest gear. We enjoyed that very much. We call ourselves ‘gearjunkies’ for a reason of course!
