Numark presents new products at PLASA 2008

Numark will be showcasing several new products this week at PLASA 2008, including a tabletop CD player for DJs, a DJ control surface with built-in audio interface and the much anticipated, NS7 hardware controller.

ARC 3 is an advanced tabletop CD player that plays standard CDs as well as MP3-CDs, enabling DJs to fit several hours’ worth of music on a single disc. ARC 3 is easy to use with high-performance controls, including pitch and scratch.

Scratching is easy for any DJ, using the large, five-inch scratch wheel. Two loop banks provide DJs extensive creative flexibility, and seamless looping makes integrating loops in musical fashion easy and fun. DJs can control pitch ±8% and ±16% using an onboard fader. Analog and digital outputs provide users a choice of connectivity for stage and studio mixing.

ARC 3 offers the basis for an excellent starter-DJ setup. Two ARC 3s, mated with an M1, M1USB or X1USB mixer and PHX headphones, provide any DJ with a rugged, versatile system without breaking the bank or sacrificing professional features and feel.

HDMIX gives DJs everything they need to perform anywhere, and simply requires a pair of powered speakers or connection to the venue’s house PA. The system eliminates hours of moving heavy racks and cases, running cables and testing levels, and puts everything in a single box at a DJ’s fingertips.

Built around Numark’s expertise in designing and manufacturing the world’s best DJ mixers, HDMIX has all of the features a professional DJ needs to command their performances. However, HDMIX isn’t simply a DJ mixer: it’s also a CD player with standard controls, an iPod and USB-device mixing station, as well as a computer that plays MP3 and other digital files from its removable, upgradeable hard drive.

HDMIX has been specifically designed for mobile DJs and club owners who need a compact, portable system that sets up and packs away at a moment’s notice; it enables users to load in and out in one trip.

MixMeister Control, the hands-on computer DJ system, enables users to focus less on the computer screen and more on the performance. A bundle of hardware and software, the core of MixMeister Control is MixMeister’s innovative Fusion software. The DJ application gives DJs a radically different approach to DJing, freeing them to focus on performance. DJs no longer need to concern themselves with counting and matching beats, setting cue points, or syncing keys because Fusion can do the technical work. DJs are liberated to be in total creative control to interact with their music and audience.

Acknowledging MixMeister Fusion’s Digital Audio Workstation capabilities and full-featured DJ performance, Numark partnered with the software developer to develop a way for DJs to put their hands on their music. The resulting hardware control surface is specifically designed for interaction with and control of MixMeister software. The seamless marriage of hardware and software in MixMeister Control creates a new computer-DJ experience.

Numark and Serato developed NS7 to be the premier hardware controller for Serato’s ITCH software. All controls are pre-mapped for ITCH software, and both NS7 and ITCH are fully compatible with crates, loops, and cue points from Serato’s award-winning Scratch LIVE software. DJs who already use Scratch LIVE can use NS7 with their existing Scratch LIVE software, or upgrade to the included Serato ITCH program. NS7 is also compatible most other MIDI DJ software applications.

NS7 features two seven-inch motorized, adjustable-torque, aluminum turntable platter controls complete with vinyl, slipmats and 45 RPM adapters. Separating the two turntable decks is a premium DJ mixer with replaceable, digital VCA crossfader and line faders, firm, rubberized knobs, rugged switches and buttons, Strip Search (patent pending) virtual-needle drop controls, and host of other innovative features.

OMNI CONTROL contains everything DJs need to plug into any club’s house PA and perform. This high-quality, heavyweight, rugged, metal-housed DJ device is not only a hardware controller for performing with the included software, it also houses a professional digital-audio interface to feed headphones and the sound system.

This complete, professional computer-DJ package consists of a hardware controller with built-in audio I/O, Native Instruments Traktor LE 3 software and MixMeister Fusion Live software. DJs will appreciate OMNI CONTROL’s firm, reliable knobs, faders, and buttons that deliver solid performance. An extremely clean, high-quality sound card feeds pristine audio signal to two stereo outputs and headphones.

OMNI CONTROL has a heavyweight, sturdy feel thanks to its high-quality controls and rugged metal housing. It stays in place even under the most energetic performances.

Total Computer DJ in Box is a package consisting of Numark’s Total Control DJ controller, DJ|iO audio interface, HF125 DJ headphones and Native Instruments’ Traktor 3 LE DJ software. DJs can mix and scratch on Total Control, the scratch control surface designed expressly for computer DJs. DJ|iO enables DJs to get audio into and out of their computer for connection to PA system and for cueing with the included professional-grade HF125 headphones. The system is compatible with Mac and PC computers.

Total Control is laid out just like a DJ mixer or CD player, with scratch wheels, line faders, EQ knobs and a crossfader. Learning on Total Control enables DJs to move to any other DJ system with ease. Thirty-one buttons, 20 knobs and five faders give DJs powerful control capability, while USB powering frees DJs from the tethering of a wall outlet. Total Control is compatible with most DJ software and comes with pre-mapped controls for Traktor LE with no programming needed.
