Steinberg releases Cubase 4.5 and Cubase Studio 4.5 update

Steinberg is pleased to announce the availability of a new update to its Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 Music Production Systems. The 4.5 versions are available now as a download for all registered Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 customers from www.steinberg.net.

“Cubase 4.5 is an important update that expands Cubase to add even more value for our customers,” comments Helge Vogt, Steinberg’s Product Marketing Manager for Cubase. “With new technologies and many under-the-hood enhancements, this update significantly enhances Cubase as a state-of-the-art music production system, and reflects our ongoing commitment to our customers and expanding the world of Cubase,” Vogt adds.

The 4.5 update offers many new integrative technologies, with full support for the upcoming Steinberg MR816 CSX/X Advanced Integration DSP Studios and the CC121 Advanced Integration Controller. “Software and hardware are melded together with a FireWire I/O, a tactile controller and Steinberg’s Cubase Music Production System forming an exciting new system that pushes back the boundaries of what’s possible in digital audio,” says Vogt. Cubase 4.5 also offers enhanced support for the Yamaha MOTIF XS series as well as the KX USB Music Studio series.

Cubase 4.5 also introduces VST Sound(TM), a new and improved universal media management format that is a fundamental part of Steinberg’s VST3 standard. Vogt comments: “To celebrate the launch of VST Sound, Cubase 4.5 includes the VST Sound Collection Vol. 1,
offering 1.6 GB of first-class new sounds and instruments for Cubase.”

Among the 45 new instruments for HALion One is the famed S90ES Grand by Yamaha. Cubase 4.5 also includes drums, basses, guitars and other instruments by Sonic Reality, as well as 250 loops by Big Fish Audio.

The update also offers full compatibility with Steinberg’s entry-level Sequel 2 Music Creation and Performance Software as well as the new Rock, Hip Hop and Industrial Content Sets. “This important addition ensures compatibility across the entire range of Steinberg
production software,” Vogt adds. “For example, Cubase 4 customers using Sequel 2 as a musical sketch pad on a mobile computer can not only move those projects to a full-scale Cubase production environment for further development, but they can also use the three
new Sequel 2 Content Sets for Rock, Hip Hop and Industrial to kick start their creativity.”
