On Saturday, November 11th, and Sunday, November 12th, 2023, the thirteenth installment of the renowned Synthesizers and Electronic Instruments Expo will take place in Turin. This event stands as an industry benchmark, showcasing the latest in synthesizers, electronic musical instruments, and music technology.
Soundmit in Turin has reached a significant milestone with its thirteenth edition, and it returns with two days filled with live music, instrument exhibitions, captivating showcases, informative workshops, and high-level masterclasses featuring international guests. The event will be hosted at the Toolbox Co-working facility located at Via Agostino da Montefeltro 2, the same venue that hosted the successful previous edition. It boasted over forty international brands on display, numerous partner-led discussions, and an impressive lineup of twenty-three concerts.
Soundmit is Italy’s premier trade fair dedicated to synthesizers and the latest advancements in audio and music production technologies. It began its journey in 2011 under the name “Torino Synth Meeting” and continued to evolve. In 2017, it transformed into “Soundmit – International Sound Summit” to broaden its offerings to the public and participating companies. The event covers a wide spectrum, including synthesizers, pro audio equipment, DJ gear, effects and guitar effects, music production software, digital audio workstations (DAWs), plugins, and studio gear.
Throughout its existence, Soundmit has fostered collaborations with prominent media outlets in the industry and has established partnerships with both Italian and international institutions. Notable partners include the Italian Trade Agency, Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, Università di Roma Tor Vergata, Dams of the University of Turin, Arduino (with the new edition set to be held at Arduino’s headquarters in Turin), London School of Sound, Audio Developer Conference, SynthFest France, and many others.
One of the standout features of the thirteenth edition is the exciting new partnership with the AES – Audio Engineering Society, which will be conducting specialized seminars and adding a new dimension to the event.
Moreover, Soundmit proudly aligns itself with Keychange.eu, a European initiative dedicated to creating a more inclusive music industry for both present and future generations. Soundmit commits to this cause through its participation in a professional development program for underrepresented talent, a steadfast commitment to gender balance, and the adoption of a manifesto aimed at influencing policy decisions. This manifesto reflects Soundmit’s dedication to the Keychange initiative, shaping a more equitable future for the music industry.
