Driver updates for Lexicon I-ONIX series

Lexicon today announced it has released new Windows and Mac software drivers for the I∙ONIX series of Desktop Recording Interfaces. With the new 64-bit Windows driver, these interfaces now operate seamlessly on computers running Windows 64-bit XP and Vista operating systems. The new Mac driver improves performance and now supports all Mac computers operating on OS X 10.4.9 or higher regardless of whether they are based on a PowerPC or Intel processor.

Sonic Charge Synplant 1.0.1 and new patches available

It has been a bit quiet at Sonic Charge lately, but rest assure that it only means that they were concentrating harder. A few new projects and upgrades are slowly taking shape on their assembly line. Meanwhile they have decided to release a minor maintenance upgrade for Synplant that addresses some important issues. The version number is 1.0.1 and it will not bring any new features to Synplant but focuses on improving stability and compatibility.

Ambient Glitch Volume 1 – This amazing collection features some of the darkest and most atmospheric loops and samples ever committed to a Sample Pack! It was produced by Jeff Rhodes who has been working as a professional sound designer and soundtrack producer for over a decade. “By using bit crushing techniques instead of just distortion,” he says, “plus ‘improper’ use of beat choppers to get a more lo-fi sound, and even learning to overuse compression as an effect, I was able to put together what you hear in this sample pack. Combining it all, along with some weird artefact-like percussion and some stuttery repeats, I was able to harness some of that elusive Glitch power.
