The Denon DN-MC6000 is a dedicated Traktor controller and digital mixer. Cased in solid steel it has excellent build quality and can be used to control other DVS systems via midi. The DN-MC6000 comes bundled with Traktor LE and works with both Mac and PC systems. If there is a direct competitor out there that will give the Native Instrumenst S4 Kontrol a run for their money it should be this DN-MC6000 controller.

Touch Record and Reason with your iPad – Retouch Control

Retouch Control offers TouchOSC templates to control Propellerhead’s Record and Reason. So it is NOT an app but uses the TouchOSC app as a basis. TouchOSC is a universal iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad application that lets you send and receive Open Sound Control messages over a Wi-Fi network using the UDP protocol. What do you get when you are a product designer and electronic musician? Well … meet Yuri Suzuki! A japanese born designer living in London who makes electronic music as a side gig. Or is it the other way? Anyway, one of his latest projects is the Urushi Musical Interface. It is a touch panel style musical interface which uses principle of gold inlay. Watching the video makes me think it takes a lot of effort to understand the workings behind it and get a decent performance out of it. On the other hand … it just looks stunning!

Yesterday the net got buzzin’ about the new plugin from Universal Audio. Today there’s a video overview showing us more about this plugin for the UAD-2 platform. The Studer A800 Multichannel Tape machine remains the most popular tape machine ever made, and can still be found in studios all over the planet. Universal Audio’s Studer A800 plug-in faithfully replicates this machine with multiple tape speed, tape formulations, calibration controls, and the ability to adjust multiple instances with one control. Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 Overview – Video

Like its 16-channel sibling, the 24-channel StudioLive 24.4.2 is designed for both studio recording and live sound, without compromising the requirements for either. StudioLive 24.4.2 sports the same friendly user interface, robust feature set, and extensive I/O configuration as the StudioLive 16.4.2 but with several significant additions and enhancements. The most obvious difference is that the new mixer provides 24 input channels, rather than 16. As with the 16.4.2, each input features a trim pot, XLR mic input with XMAX™ mic preamp, 1/4-inch TRS balanced line inputs and unbalanced insert points. Like the 16.4.2, the StudioLive 24.4.2 offers 4 subgroup outputs, but where the 16-channel model offers 6 aux buses, the 24.4.2 provides 10 aux buses.

Prophet-5 hardware recreation by Synth-Project

Maybe it’s not exactly a re-creation of the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 but it is a hardware controller for the Gunnar Messiah VSTi. This software instruments is inspired by the Prophet-5, but instead of saw, tri and pulse oscillators it has 3 innovative oscillators: Morph oscillator with 4 waveforms, unison oscillator with 7 voices (and you can put this oscillator into 5 voice unison for 35 voices), and flexi oscillator that consist of 2 seperate waves that can perform PWM, ring mod. and phase distortion with very low CPU.
