Roland AIRA MusikMesse Demonstration – Gearjunkies Video

When at the Messe you of course visit the Roland stand. Popular amongst the visitors were the demonstrations of the new AIRA Series. Roland had a little surprise as they introduced a new addition to the AIRA series with a little Sync Box. We noticed that the sync box wasn’t named yet as there was a sticker on top of the box blocking that model name. So we can only assume it was still in prototype stage. However it worked flawlessly as you can see and hear in our video below.

Roland Introduces the Fifth Element for the AIRA series: a Sync Box

After the four models and instruments that haven been introduced last month at Dancefair, Roland is showing the fifth instrument of the AIRA Series to the public at the MusikMesse. Roland will be adding a ‘sync box‘ to the series. Looking at the picture you’ll see that there isn’t a model name yet. Just a sticker with sync box, so this is probably a proto type in the final stages as it was fully functional during the performance by Roland.

Pioneer unveiling first look of a new DJ Turntable

Pioneer unveiling first look of a new DJ Turntable

The first signs and rumours were leaked only at the end of last year. Many around us said they didn’t believe it. No way Pioneer would go ‘back in time’. However! This is what we saw just minutes ago this morning. The first presentation of Pioneer of a project they are still working on. As you can see in the right corner they haven’t even have a model name for it. There aren’t much details to tell you, besides the fact that it did have a USB connection as well, so we could assume it will be a hybrid like the Reloop RP-8000 for example. More later….

Elektron Spotlight on Matt Karmil

Elektron Spotlight on Matt Karmil

Repetitive, warm bliss is what exits the mix buss when Matt Karmil operates his gear. The way he uses and abuses both old and new technology has garnered a lot of attention, and has recently resulted in the release of the magnificient 12″ A Lot To Share – a true testament to the gardener principle: things covered in dirt tend to grow.

Something For The Weekend: Computer Orchestra

Computer Orchestra is a crowdsourcing platform that allows users to create and conduct their own orchestra. They can choose to upload their own music or download samples to integrate into their formation. With a simple interface, they assign the chosen samples to each post. They can also arrange detection zones, that allow them to order the “musicians” to play, using various gestures. Once their orchestra is configured, they can direct it with the movements of their body.
