Alesis introduces iMultiMix 9R – iPod mixer

Alesis, the world’s leading manufacturer of professional audio equipment and studio electronics, today introduced the iMultiMix 9R: A professional mixer and audio player that features an integrated iPod dock and video output.

The Alesis iMultiMix 9R is designed for studios and live venues where rack-based audio gear is common. Thousands of facilities from gymnasiums, to recording studios, to full-sized stadiums utilize mixing and rack-mounted audio hardware. The iMultiMix 9R is the first of its kind to provide mixing, iPod integration and video output.

“This product represents the second in a new wave of pro-grade mixers that utilize the versatility of Apple’s iPod as a playback device.” says Alesis Product Manager Jim Norman. “Our research showed that most of our customers own iPods, and wanted a way to utilize them for various installation sitations such as churches, clubs and conference rooms. The iMultiMix 9R is the perfect way to do integrate iPod playback and pro-quality mixing in a studio environment.”

The iMultiMix 9R features:
– iPod dock integration
– 5 high-gain mic preamps
– 2 Stereo line inputs (one switchable from an external source or the installed iPod)
– 48V phantom power
– Aux sends and returns
– 3-band per channel EQ with high/low shelving and band pass/reject

The Alesis iMultiMix 9R is due at music retailers late 2007.
