Analogue Solutions releases the Leipzig monosynth

Recently Analogue Solutions has released the Leipzig monosynth. It is a self contained TRUE analogue synthesiser. The voice circuitry is entirely analogue, using all discrete and op-amp components. There is no voice DSP. Leipzig has a similar sound and specification to the classic Moog Prodigy/Rogue synthesisers, but with many improvements such as MIDI and more modulation paths.

Allen and Heath ZED 4-Bus Series now shipping

Allen and Heath has announced that the new ZED 4-Bus range of small format, USB-equipped mixers for live performance, recording, and production is now shipping and available in stores. Following the launch of the ZED-14 and ZED-24, Allen and Heath has announced the ZED-420 (16 mono + 2 dual stereo channels), ZED-428 (24 mono + 2 stereo) and ZED-436 (32 channel + 2 stereo) mixers.

A facelift for the Allen and Heath Xone:3D

Allen and Heath have announced that the Xone:3D will be replaced by the … Xone:4D. The Xone:4D will replace the Xone:3D in all shipments made from the end of May 2008 onwards. The Xone:4D utilises the new USB 2.0 soundcard which is now in production in the Xone:2D, which offers much greater capability and flexibility over the previous version.

Take a closer look at the Yamaha n8 and n12 mixing consoles

Yamaha have released a few videos that gives us a closer look at the recently released n8 and n12 mixing consoles. The Yamaha n8 and n12 Digital Mixing Studio are mixing consoles with an analog-like mixing interface which boasts ease of operation for professional quality recording and mixdown. Connecting a computer to the mixer IEEE 1394 port enables you to configure an ideal recording environment with seamless integration into Cubase 4.

Free Drum Synth from NuSofting

NUSofting has announced that Groove Analogizer is now available as freeware. Groove Analogizer is an “audio controlled drum synthesizer”, it means that like a vintage electronic drum tone generator (e.g. Simmons) the percussion sound is triggered by an audio input, not by a MIDI message.

Spectrasonics announces Omnisphere Preview Remix Contest

Spectrasonics announced today the beginning of their 10-week “Omnisphere Preview Remix Contest” where registered virtual instrument users can create music using special loops that Spectrasonics has created from the eagerly anticipated Omnisphere Power Synth. Three winners will be chosen in July to receive a free copy of Omnisphere when it is released on September 15, 2008.

Tascam GigaStudio 4 now shipping

Time and Space informed us that GigaStudio 4 from Tascam is now shipping. TASCAM has once again redefined the high-end of sampling workstations with GigaStudio 4. Building on the features of GigaStudio 3, the new version supports 64-bit operating systems like XP64 and Windows Vista 64, allowing users to access up to 128 gigabytes of RAM for loading massive sample libraries and compositional templates. GigaStudio 4 also hosts VSTi and GVI virtual instruments, loading or stacking instruments alongside GigaStudio instrument libraries.
