Harmony Systems, Inc. announced the availability of Delora vKiP 2.0, an upgrade to their iPad control surface app for Symbolic Sound’s Kyma sound design system.
OSC and MIDI Connectivity
vKiP 2.0 offers the choice of Wi-Fi OSC, USB MIDI or network MIDI connectivity between Kyma and the iPad. Users of Kyma Pacarana, Paca or Capybara sound engines with Mac or PC systems can now enjoy vKiP’s benefits. When using Wi-Fi OSC with Paca(rana)s, no other computer programs, drivers, or utilities are needed. USB MIDI connections require no additional programs, drivers, or utilities when connected directly to the Kyma sound engine’s own MIDI ports.
Other New Features
vKiP 2.0 has new, contemporary graphics, including Retina display graphics support. The original styling is available as a theme setting. vKiP is optimized for use in both landscape and portrait orientations.
vKiP 2.0 builds upon the original features of faders and rotaries for Kyma sound parameter adjustment, banking, value and name display, and snapshots. It adds “shortcut” buttons that control Kyma’s DSP when Delora’s KymaConnect OSX application is installed on a Mac. These buttons remotely stop/start DSP processing, or play/pause the current sound.
Pricing
vKiP is offered at the reduced price of $19.95 (USD) and is available on the iTunes App Store.
