inMusic Acquires Native Instruments: Kontakt, Traktor, iZotope and More Join the Family

Big news in the music tech world: inMusic has officially signed an agreement to acquire Native Instruments, the Berlin-based company behind some of the most-used tools in modern music production and DJ culture.

That means platforms like Kontakt, Traktor, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx are set to join a lineup that already includes Akai Professional, Moog Music, Denon DJ, Numark, Rane, and M-Audio.

For producers, this feels like a natural next step. The two companies already started working closely together in 2025, when Native Instruments brought NKS integration to Akai Pro MPK and M-Audio Oxygen controllers, while NI sounds landed on the MPC standalone platform for the first time. That collaboration hinted at deeper workflow integration between hardware and software — and now we know why.

Native Instruments currently serves more than 25 million registered users worldwide, with Kontakt still sitting at the center of countless studio setups. Traktor remains a respected DJ platform, while iZotope and Brainworx continue to be go-to names for mixing, mastering, and plugin processing.

According to both companies, business continues as usual for now. Products, support, and services remain active while the deal moves toward completion over the coming weeks.

What matters most here is the potential workflow crossover. MPC users getting tighter Kontakt integration? Deeper controller support across NI ecosystems? Smarter links between hardware, plugins, and standalone production gear? That’s the interesting part.
