Not far behind the introduction of the CDJ-2000nexus, Pioneer has now introduced the ‘nexus’ update version of the DJM-2000 DJ Mixer. The perfect complement to the recently released CDJ-2000nexus multi player, the DJM-2000nexus offers more music mixing functions, including the new Beat Slice and Sync Master, available in conjunction with Pioneer’s Pro DJ Link. In addition to the newest features, the mixer incorporates a built-in full-color 5.8-inch LCD multi-touch panel with screen effects, evolved Beat Effects, Pro DJ Link and MIDI control capability.

Word from Denon DJ is that their new MC2000 DJ controller is now available is stores right now. The MC2000 doesn’t need to be plugged into a mains power supply for you to get thrashing out tunes – it’s USB Bus powered which means if you want to show off your latest mix then you simply need to power up your laptop and plug in the MC2000 with a USB cable (supplied). Serato DJ Intro software detects the controller automatically and is ready to work from the moment you take out of the box and plug in – giving you true ‘plug & play’ functionality.

Big announcement from Ableton today. Not only did they release the details for Live 9 but they also introduced a specific Ableton controller, named Push. Ableton did the design of Push but they got help from the engineers at Akai Professional for this controller. Push combines Ableton’s vision for music making with Akai Professional’s years of experience making instruments.

Just last week we had the pleasure to see mr. Dave Clarke performing at the Amsterdam Dance Event. It was quite the night and we enjoyed the performance of him and all the other DJs. Next to showcase ringmaster Dave Clarke, the Melkweg venue underwent performances by Chicago’s finest Green Velvet, one of house music’s true pioneers DJ Sneak, the Detroit collective Octave One, Berlin based Marcel Fengler, Dutch leading tech lady Estroe, Clone Records artist Blawan and Dutchman Roger Gerressen.

With the past announcement of the Pioneer DDJ-SX DJ controller there was also the announcement of the new Serato DJ software. The Pioneer controller will be a dedicated Serato DJ controller. Serato DJ delivers all the features and performance to meet the demands of DJs at the top of their game and sets the new standard for controller DJs. The software will be released on November 1st, as will the DDJ-SX.
