ARTURIA announces THE ONE

Arturia announces THE ONE, a single-box containing every Arturia software instrument and a single license to activate one of them. This product comes from a simple observation: in stores, it may not always be possible to find the title you want. Dealers may have one instrument in stock, but not all products by the company. The idea with THE ONE is to make sure all titles are in one box and the user decides which one he will authorize.

Celemony announce Melodyne updates

Celemony Software GmbH is pleased to announce that Melodyne editor, the first product to offer the patented DNA Direct Note Access technology, will be updated to version 1.1 in April. The free update improves the sound quality, performance and reliability of the software, optimizes numerous functions, and fixes a number of bugs. At the same time as the Melodyne editor update, updates will be appearing for Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS.

Elektron Octatrack? Is it, would it, could it be?

In our Messe preview we have talked already on the possibity of a new Elektron machine glooming at the horizon. For weeks the Elektron forums are buzzing with rumours and ideas. The new product would probably getting its introduction at the coming Messe next week. Elektron have covered themselves in mystery and are replying with the appropriate “no comment”. However … the video below shows us someone making buttons (for the Messe?) that reveals the name of an unknown Elektron product: the OCTATRACK! Trigger – drum replacement announced by Slate Digital announced

Toontrack Music announces the birth of Beatstation

And there it is, after a few weeks of teasing Toontrack has announced BeatStation. It plays percussion pads, lead instruments and melodic basses. Beatstation uses a flexible and skinnable open playing surface. It handles custom samples, midi grooves and .rex files. Apart from the video on their website there still isn’t much information but it looks like it is a VSTi that can be whatever you want it be. Although it is firmly planted in the Toontrack legacy of designing the best percussive virtual instruments Beatstation marks a departure for Toontrack, introducing melodic instruments, REX support, and recording capabilities making it the ultimate open surface sampler for sound designers, producers, musicians and songwriters alike.
