Something For The Weekend: Computer Orchestra

Computer Orchestra is a crowdsourcing platform that allows users to create and conduct their own orchestra. They can choose to upload their own music or download samples to integrate into their formation. With a simple interface, they assign the chosen samples to each post. They can also arrange detection zones, that allow them to order the “musicians” to play, using various gestures. Once their orchestra is configured, they can direct it with the movements of their body.

With the release of the version 7.5 software of the UAD-2 software, Universal Audio has introduced two new additions to the software. First there’s the UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Plug-In Collection, this new plug-in collection delivers the first genuine representation of the UA 610 preamp’s revered tube character. Secondly they add the BAX Dangerous EQ collection, which has been developed by Brainworx. This collection is a premium “finishing EQ” that offers world-class sonics, unique frequency curves and features.

This past weekend the whole Gearjunkies team, assisted by the DJ2DJ team, was present at the biggest Electronic Music Production fair in The Netherlands, Dancefair in Utrecht. Two days full of workshops, panel discussions and seminars on everything Electronic Music. It is the perfect opportunity to watch and learn from top DJs and producers, like Armin van Buuren and Hardwell, on how they build a track for example. At Dancefair there’s also an expo where you can see, feel and play with the latest new gear. Best example was the world premiere of the new Roland AIRA instruments.

Roland AIRA Series: TB-3 Video

Ok, final video of the day is the new take on the ‘very classic’ TB-303 by Roland. Our own Marc van den Hurk takes a swing to the new TB-3 from the new AIRA series. If there’s one iconic classic then it is probably that TB-303. Like we mentioned before after visiting Roland Europe yesterday we are convinced that Roland is on to something with this new series. No it’s not ‘analog’ but, damn, it sure sounds awesome!
