Something for the Weekend: So, uhm … what is Soundcloud?

Silly title of this post, we know. Because we assume you know what Soundcloud is or else you have been living under a rock for the past 2 years (just kidding, … don’t hate us!). But SoundCloud is a online audio platform that lets music professionals receive, send and distribute their music. Primarily SoundCloud provides an efficient and simple way for music professionals to exchange music they are working on in private settings allowing for easy collaboration and communication prior to a public release.

Novation Nocturn 49 – A Closer Look – Video

Our friends at Winksound grabbed themselves a Novation Nocturn 49 to their studios and together with Novation product specialist Brandon Carroll they show us more on the features of this MIDI controller keyboard. The Nocturn Keyboard is an intelligent plug-in/sequencer controller. It has a high quality keyboard, with 8 drum pads and a total of 33 assignable controls, which allow you to get hands-on control of your virtual instruments, effects plugins and music production software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Reason.

What is the Audi sound?

I came across this video below today. At first I thought this would be an attempt of a hoax. But then again it was hosted at the official Audi Youtube account, plus it has been released in may 2010, so… I guess it’s real. Audi surely takes its ‘corporate sound‘ very seriously. Audi took almost one and a half-year of development to create a virtual “AUDI Sound Studio”. This ‘sound studio’ is the basis for all creatives, composer and sound designer to create the AUDI sound.

Something for the Weekend: Modular Drum Module Synth.nl

Gearjunkies good friend Michel Osenbruggen, maybe better known as Synth.nl, is one of those person we can truly call a natural ‘Gearjunkie’. If you look at his pictures of his studio then you really know exactly why we call him that. If you are into analog vintage gear, you’ll probably think he is working in a ‘vintage gear heaven’. He has a large, extensive collection of synthesizers. From way (… way!) back to the modern classics! One of his latest projects was the built of a drum module based on the schematics from the ‘Electronic Drum Cookbook‘ by Thomas Henry. The video below shows us the results.
