Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd. announces that it has acquired the business of Novation Electronic Music systems Ltd.
The two businesses are both located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Focusrite is the leading UK brand of recording peripherals including microphone preamplifiers, channel strips, equalisers and dynamics processors, whilst Novation is the leading UK brand of hardware and software synthesisers and controller keyboards.
Novation’s Managing Director Ian Jannaway and Technical Director Chris Huggett are to continue with Focusrite’s new subsidiary, Novation Digital Music Systems Ltd., to lead the brand’s growth and development.
Phil Dudderidge, Chairman of Focusrite comments: “We have admired the Novation brand for some time and have developed a great rapport with Ian and Chris. We are delighted to have the opportunity to give our backing to the brand and to bring our business skills to the Novation business, which will grow from strength to strength.
Focusrite and Novation’s customers are increasingly converging with the evolution of the digital music studio and the acquisition of Novation’s great name and heritage combined with Focusrite’s should promise some outstanding new products”.
Ian Jannaway comments: Focusrite’s acquisition of Novation has provided us with the structure and opportunity to bring to market an exciting range of new products. The recently launched X-Station and Remote range of keyboards have been very well received and working with Focusrite’s talented team will allow us to extend the brand much further.
