Synthogy updates Ivory to v.1.0.5.

Synthogy updated the Audio Units version of Ivory to v1.0.5 and the RTAS version to v1.0.4. These new releases fix Mac OS X 10.4 and Logic 7.1 compatibility issues, Pro Tools 6.9.2 compatibility issues with RTAS version, and fix a MIDI volume issue. Ivory is a sample-based triple piano virtual instrument by Synthogy and produced by piano sound designer Joe Ierardi. Ivory features over 3,500 piano samples designed to recreate every nuance of three grand pianos: Steinway D 9′ Concert Grand, Bosendorfer 290 Imperial Grand and Yamaha C7 Grand.

Celemony posted an update to version 1.0.1 for its audio editing software Melodyne Uno, which adds minor improvements. This update is available for registered users only. Melodyne uno offers you the celebrated Melodyne technology in the most compact and affordable format. Melodyne uno dispenses with the multi-track Arrange window of the larger versions of Melodyne and operates like a normal sample editor.

PSP Audioware informed us that they updated the Mac OSX version of their award winning EQ plug-in PSP MasterQ to version 1.2.1. (free update for registered users). At the same time they officially ported it to AudioUnit and RTAS format. It means that PSP MasterQ can be used not only in any VST hosts such as Cubase or Nuendo but also in any AudioUnit hosts such as Logic, Digital Performer, GarageBand and in ProTools LE/ ProTools TDM systems which are hosts for RTAS plug-ins.

Skylife, the makers of SampleRobot, the automated sampling software have let it be known that SampleRobot V 1.14 is now available for download. Egosys Inc. (ESI) is responsible for wordwide distribution of the boxed version. The boxed version will be available mid of July 2005.

Behringer releases BCA2000 Windows XP driver Version 2

Behringer has announced the immediate availability of the BCA2000 Windows XP driver Version 2 for downloading, free-of-charge at the Behringer website. The B-CONTROL AUDIO BCA2000 is a high-speed USB 2.0 multi-channel audio/MIDI interface with multiple simultaneous digital and analog ins and outs, including instrument inputs, adjustable limiter and an extensive monitor control section.

In a surprise move Mr Tom Misner – President and Founder of the multi-national SAE Group announced today the acquisition of the world’s leading console manufacturer AMS Neve. Tom, an audio technologist, visionary, & educator in the music field has maintained a very strong industry association and has been a user of Neve consoles for the past 30 years.

Sagan Technology has recently released a pre-release of their Metro Sequencing Audio Software (version 6.3.1). Upgrades from 6.2 are free. All new purchases include access to this version. There is an upgrade price of $29.99 to upgrade any flavor of Metro from 6.x to 6.3. Metro Documents written with this version will NOT be readable in any version prior to Metro/Metro SE version 6.3. This pre-release (Metro and Metro SE) still works under OS 9 but Sagan is no longer providing Tech support for OS 9.

SSL taken over by … Peter Gabriel!

Solid State Logic is pleased to announce that the companies assets have been acquired by a joint venture established by musician and technologist, Peter Gabriel, and broadcast industry entrepreneur, David Engelke. The company, which will trade as Solid State Logic, will continue to design and manufacture mixing consoles and related audio technology at its Begbroke, Oxford headquarters.
