Gemini changes its company name to GCI Technologies

After 34 years of servicing the Professional Audio and DJ communities, Gemini Sound Products will be changing its company name to GCI Technologies.

GCI Technologies will act as the corporate umbrella for the Gemini brand, iKEY Audio brand, and the newly-acquired Cortex digital music controller brand.

“We have the infrastructure in place to distribute additional technology based brands” says CEO, Artie Cabasso. “With this change we are in a position to acquire other brands or technology that we would not be able to develop on our own.”

At this time, GCI Technologies is also proud to announce that it has officially acquired the global rights to Cortex which debuted at January’s NAMM show to rave reviews with its patent-pending intelligent, hard-drive based technology. The technology caught the eyes and ears of the Gemini team, prompting them to acquire the engineering company who developed it. The acquired engineering company will be responsible for the manufacturing of the Cortex products which will be on a level superior to current high end brands in the DJ industry.

“With its revolutionary hard-drive based technology, Cortex allows the DJ to easily access, control, and manipulate their entire digital music collection from virtually any USB storage device, including an iPod™” explains President Alan Cabasso. “Bringing the art of performance back into DJ’ing, Cortex is truly the future.”
