Waves take action against illegal crack users

Waves has taken action against facilities that use their software illegally. With help of undercover agents who posed as potential clients they visited several studios and audio facilities and gathered information on the use of illegal Waves software.

Waves started this action earlier this year. After the agents found crack versions of Waves software to be used, the owners of the facilities in question received official letters from Waves’s collection agents. They were informed of the intent to prosecute, followed by an offer to settle out of court for a sum several times in excess of the list price of the item concerned.

At this moment Waves is planning to roll out this action globally. Waves have confirmed that the investigations have taken place as part of BanPiracy, a continuing global campaign.
