It’s been quite an amazing time for Moog recently. The Moog Modular Recreation, MF-Chorus & MF-Flange have been nominated for NAMM TEC Awards and now theres going to be a Moog featured as part of a new Smithsonian project.
Last years 9th annual DC Loves Dilla Concert in July came with a big announcement during the tribute to the late and sorely missed rap and hip-hop beat producer. The Smithsonian newest project, the building of the Museum Of African American History will include Dilla’s Akai Professional MPC3000LE and his custom-made MiniMoog Voyager Signature Edition synthesiser, which is said to be one of the last Moog synths that Dr. Robert Moog personally built for someone before his passing.
Here, you can see Dilla’s mother, affectionally known as ‘Ma Dukes’, pictured with the two instruments.
