These past three days our team member Marc van den Hurk was in Madrid for the official launch of the new Denon SC2900 Multi Media player. He accepted the invitation by Denon and went to see what this new player was all about. Read his report below.

Korg have just announced that the Kaossilator 2 and Mini Kaoss Pad 2 are available now. Both products were announced at the WinterNamm 2012, past january. The new Kaossilator 2 is a Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer. The Mini Kaoss Pad 2 is a Dynamic Effect Processor.
Last year we had a video in this section from Ko Matsushita where he used a Pioneer DJM-900, CDJ-2000, EFX-1000, Ableton Live, an iPad, Korg Kaossilator and Touch OSC to do a ‘mash-up’ of “Diabla (Metrik Remix)” by Funk D’ Void and “Flashback (Accapella)” by Calvin Harris. And now he returned with a new demonstration video but this time he uses the new Pioneer RMX-1000 FX controller to show his magic. We wanted to post this video as it is a simple hands-on video showing and, for us, seeing the little tricks and moves he makes to create a live mash-up.

Allen & Heath’s iLive digital mixing system has been selected by FOH engineer, David Millward, as the console of choice on Morrissey’s 2012 worldwide tour. Requiring a small, lightweight console to travel with the production, Millward selected an iLive-80 Control Surface and iDR10 modular MixRack fitted with a Dante Card for multitrack recording and virtual soundchecking.
Ableton are pleased to announce the beta version of Live 8.4, featuring native 64-bit support. With 64-bit support, Sets in Live 8 can now accommodate much larger memory usage, and third-party plugins that support 64-bit. Registered Live 8, Suite 8, Live Intro or Live Lite 8 users can download the beta now.
