Something For The Weekend: DJ Kypski & $jammie The Money Present The Clocktave

The Clocktave is a scratch tool to make music with. It is based on just one concept: the Clocktave. A Clocktave (Clock-Octave) is a note scale to scratch with, ranging from 1 to 4 octaves. The notes of the octaves are divided between exactly one rotation of the record. Every note of the scale appears at the same position over and over, regardless of which octave you are in.

UVI releases UVX-3P Virtual Vintage Synth

In 1983, Roland introduced one of the first affordable analog synths, the JX-3P. The JX-3P signaled a shift away from control dense synths like the JUNO and JUPITER series for a less intimidating, more entry-level aesthetic aimed at players who wanted the Roland sound without being distracted by a slew of controls. Now UVI introduces UVX-3P, a superb instrument inspired by the Roland JX-3P, at an outstanding price, $79 (introductory price, instead of $99).

Years of meticulous research and the latest in cutting-edge DSP technology combine to deliver a synth with teeth. Below is a collection of demos from Native Instruments’ forthcoming software synth.
